Hey folks! Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful autumn weather. The Mostly Harmless dudes have been catching up on vacations, dealing with some occupational rearrangements, and practicing, practicing, practicing…
Just wanted to share with our faithful family, friends, and fans that we will not be at the Ambler Main Street Oktoberfest this weekend as we had planned. The organizer blamed it on a shortened playing time due to a new sound company, but between us, I think it might have been simple miscommunication.
Hey it can happen to the best of us, and actually, it surprises me that it doesn’t happen more often… In general, gigs are booked 6 – 9 months in advance, based only on a loose email or text conversation. A lot can happen in that amount of time in this business – you’d think there would be a contract, or something more official… But 6 months later we just show up at the venue, hoping we all wrote the same thing down on our calendars.
Bottom line, we are disappointed, but we still absolutely love the Ambler Main Street folks. Ambler is such a fun town, and they really know how to throw great festivals. I will definitely be out there this weekend, roaming the streets and enjoying the music, beer, food trucks and fall weather. Hope to see you there!
Rest assured that we will not be resting on our laurels (or anything else for that matter) during this little break. We are working hard on new fun, danceable rock and roll for our set list. We like to keep changing things up for y’all. It keeps it fun for us, and ensures that we can show you a little something new each and every time you come to see us!
Looking forward to 2024, we already have some great gigs booked at all of our favorite places, including The Ribby in February, Screwballs in April, Great Barn in May and The Buck Hotel in July. We are still working to fill in some gaps in Jan and Mar. We also have some surprise announcements that I’m gonna save for our next newsletter. So stay tuned!
That’s all for now! See you all soon!
Luv, MHB
